Attend Acton Community Preservation Committee Meeting on January 7th to Support Funding a Permanent Comfort Station Open to Trail Users at NARA Park

bicycle-route-imageActon Recreation Department has been offered a modular house, currently located on the abutting property near the NARA Park bath house. The purpose for moving the modular house onto the NARA property would be to provide public bathrooms and a snack bar/picnic area for BFRT users, along with a small office space for Recreation. In order to re-use the modular house for public use, it would need to be completely renovated, public bathrooms designed, etc. The Friends of the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail have donated $5,000 for the conceptual design (which is being worked on). The Recreation Department has proposed that final design and construction of the modular house of the re-use of the modular house as comfort station be supported with Community Preservation Act (CPA) funds. The Community Preservation Committee (CPC) vets and recommends which projects to support. The CPC is meeting on January 7, 2016 at 7:40 pm and the re-use of the modular house is on the agenda.

Please attend the January 7th Acton CPC meeting and show your support for this important amenity.
